Art Workshop: Photographic Skin

In this weekend workshop, you will be learning the process of how to lift Polaroid Emulsions with skilled tutor Zoe Helene Spaleta. The process of lifting Polaroids is beautiful and delicate; it gives you the power to manufacture movement within your photograph in a tangible way, play around with different stages of composition and connect with your work in a unique way. They will be playing around with the idea of movement in photography, creating textures with the emulsions and figuring out what compositions we can manufacture while the emulsion floats around in the water, and how we can translate this movement when we transfer the emulsion onto paper. The connection between emotion and movement in photographs is something Zoe has always been enamoured with. She believes exploring this relationship through lifting Polaroid emulsions has added another dynamic to her work and has allowed her to bring the connection between movement and emotion in her photographs to life.
