See something spectacular as they celebrate the International Year of Glass with live demonstrations of glass blowing and neon bending during National Science Week. Join Glassworks Artistic Director Aimee Frodsham and resident science expert Jodie Smith, who will answer your burning questions: How are fibre optic cables made? Why do the lenses in our glasses change the way we see? What is a Prince Rupert’s drop? And how is glass made in different colours? Over the two weekends of National Science Week, Canberra Glassworks will host twice daily demonstrations to answer these questions featuring some of Australia's leading glass artists. Live Neon Bending Demonstration for one Science Week evening only, Canberra Glassworks will be opening their doors for a later-than-usual neon bending demonstration with Harriet Schwarzrock. Demonstrations will be suitable for all ages, and everyone is encouraged to jump in with their burning glass questions. Booking is not required, but capacity is limited.
