DESCRIPTION:The Amazons Australia is an all-female stage adventure race first conducted in July 2025 in Mission Beach on the Cassowary Coast. The event is affiliated with the ARWS - Adventure Racing World Series and was in fact the first ever ARWS all female event. It is part of the ARWS Oceania Series.\n\nThe Amazons Australia Adventure Race was created and designed by Kim Beckinsale and Jan Leverton from Tri Adventure and is targeting women who want to step up from one day events such as the Wild Women Adventure Race.\n\nThe Amazons Australia is an adventure race for teams of two women\, and involves trekking / running\, mountain biking\, kayaking and navigation by map and compass to find checkpoints. \n\nThe 3 stages make up 24 hours  (up to 8 hours per day). Each year the course is different but returns to the Cassowary Coast for 2026 and 2027.\n\nThere are 4 categories:- \nLegends - 2 women - 50+\nWarriors - 2 women - 30 +\nPrincesses - 2 women under 30\nTribes - 2 women of mixed ages\n\nThe Amazons Australia is more than an event\, it's a powerful movement of incredibly strong and independent women who are capable of tackling practically anything that mother nature and or the event directors throw at them all in the name of adventure!
