SUMMARY:Hearing Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The hearing health worker will do hearing pre-screenings&nbsp\;to identify hearing issues and confirm whether you need to see a GP and/or specialist to treat or manage these health issues.\n\nAppointments can be made by calling the clinic receptionist.\n\nInitial hearing checks are done by Kambu Health's - Health Workers either at the school or in the clinic.\n\nThe initial screening test is a hearing assessment\, which consists of:\n\n\n	\n	An Otoscopy (a visual inspection of the ear)\n	\n	\n	Tympanometry (a test of the middle ear movement)\, and\n	\n	\n	An Audiometry Test (listening test)\n	\n\n\nIf the tests are mildly outside of the normal range\, then an appointment is made for a 3-month review to see if the conditions causing the hearing problems are short term.\n\nIf the tests are well outside of the normal range (or a second test identifies a mild range is still present) then a referral is made to the GP and/or possibly an Audiologist or ENT specialist for specialised treatment.\n\nHearing checks are conducted in schools for children between pre-primary and year seven\, every 3 months.\n\nHearing check appointments can be made at the clinic or by phoning clinic reception.\n
