About the Event
About
The First World War often called The Great War or the war to end all wars had a huge impact across the globe. Consequences is a new exhibition that explores the aftermath of this global conflict and the impacts it had on Albury and surrounding regional communities, impacts which are still felt to this day.
The exhibition explores the stories of those returning home from the war and their families, and the industrial, commercial and agricultural developments that occurred as a result of the war. It also uncovers some lesser known stories including the post home coming lives of Aboriginal service people.
Consequences shows visitors the expected and unexpected consequences of The Great War. It has strong links with all levels of the Australian Curriculum, and includes interactive discovery activities for children to explore the exhibition with their families.
This project is a collaboration between AlburyCity, Greater Hume, Murray Arts and six regional museums: Jindera Pioneer Museum, Headlie Taylor Header Museum Henty, the Woolpack Inn Museum, Holbrook Submarine Museum, Wymah Museum, and Culcairn Station House Museum.
