[CANCELLED] Winter Solstice

Provided by:

Event runs from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Shine a light on the darkest night with Survivors of Suicide and Friends. The Winter Solstice was created to encourage candid and destigmatising conversations around suicide and around the real, lived experiences of mental ill health in our community. We come together on the darkest night of the year to share stories, to support each other, and to remember those we’ve lost. In 2021, the Winter Solstice will be hosted live and streamed online for those who cannot physically attend. This is a free event for all. We’ll be hosting guest speakers Georgie Dent, Kerry O’Brien and Linda Burney, alongside our ever-wonderful MC, David Astle. Join us for a night of reflection, remembrance and connection. In the words of Samuel Johnson, who spoke at the 2018 Solstice, ‘This event is an example, a template if you like, of how to handle this issue. I’d love to see this in every town.’
