Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) presents artist and jeweller Maria Klingner in MAMA Studio for a day of jewellery making. Students will be guided through the design and fabrication techniques needed to create their very own pair of unique copper and sterling silver drop earrings. Maria will pass on her experience and expertise in a practical day of foundation skill building, including: Design Saw piercing Shaping Annealing Texturing Finishing All materials (copper and sterling silver) and specialised hand tools are provided for this workshop. There will be naked flame work as part of the workshop, so students are recommended to wear natural fibres, closed shoes, and tie up long hair. Please avoid loose or flowing synthetic fabrics. Murray Art Museum Albury has five to seven exhibitions on at any given time. A visit to the museum includes a visit to MAMA Store, featuring independent Australian designers and makers from the Murray region. Canvas Eatery is located on the ground floor of the museum, and takes in the sunny aspect of the QEII Square gardens. MAMA is open seven days a week, and entry to the museum is always free.
