VERTO, in partnership with Bathurst Regional Council, invites you to a free presentation by inspirational speaker, Peter Davidson, as part of their VERTO Inspire Series. Peter was the paramedic aboard the first rescue helicopter to reach survivors in the ill-fated 1998 Sydney to Hobart yacht race decimated by a hurricane where six sailors lost their lives. This was to be one of the worst maritime disasters in ocean racing history. Twice coming close to death, Peter successfully rescued eight survivors from the stricken vessel “Standaside.” Peter shares with you the events, insights and leadership challenges that he and his crew faced on this day.
