About
Bellingen Fitness is currently running the Exercise Right for Active Aging program. This is a national program designed for Australians over 65.
Participants receive 12x group exercise classes, pre and post assessment.
Classes held at Bellingen Fitness gym, run by Exercise Physiologist, Adrian Betts

This program subsidises participants with funding from the Australian Government’s Move it AUS – Better Ageing Grants Program.
The program helps by providing subsidised and affordable exercise options, Improve quality of life and overall health, and connect participants with like-minded people in a fun and friendly setting.
Eligibility
The program is open to inactive older Australians over 65. Indigenous Australians who are over 55 can also enrol in the program. All Participants complete a pre-screening assessment prior to commencing the classes. This can be done face to face, or over the phone, or Telehealth.
Suitability
Classes are open to all abilities and levels of fitness and health condition.
They are also suitable for anyone:

With a chronic condition, injury, or illness

Who are on the wait list for an Australian Government Home Care package

Not accessing allied health services through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme
What’s included?
Each participant is eligible for:

1 x pre-exercise screening session (30mins)

1 x pre-assessment (30-45mins)

12 x 1-hour in-person sessions

1 x free post-assessment

To access the government subsidies, we require the following co-payments by participants:
$8.00 for each one hour in-person class
$5.50 for pre-assessment and screen (30mins)
Final assessment is provided free of charge (30mins)
The subsidies apply for 12 classes only.
