Have you always wanted to draw but have trouble getting started? Or do you have a natural talent that you would like to develop? This course is the perfect starting point for beginner artists but is also suited to people with some drawing experience who want to hone their skills. The course covers basic and slightly more advanced drawing skills. Basic skills include accurate observation and representation, as well as capturing light and shade for three-dimensional effects. You will explore still life, portraiture and landscape drawing, and some use of colour. By looking at the work of traditional and contemporary drawing artists for inspiration, you will also undertake exercises in interpretation, exaggeration and mark-making to give your drawings personality and individuality.
