About
This is an 11 kilometre run to the top of the beautiful Mt Canobolas in Orange, NSW. Run it, or walk it, just make sure you're part of it. If you are 8 or 80, the challenge is open to everyone!
The MAAS Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge is a 'fun run' style event where you can run or walk to the top of Mount Canobolas (1397 metres). There is one 11 kilometre course and a two wave start. While the course is mostly uphill only a couple of sections are steep.
Start near Towac Pinnacle Picnic Grounds (off Pinnacle Road) you first visit Mt Towac (a steep section but the views make it worth the effort) and then to Young Man Canobolas before the final climb to Mt Canobolas (also steep).
It takes in spectacular views from the forestry roads and then on to little used bush tracks through beautiful woodland. Total course climb is 520 metres. Individual, Team or Family group entries.
