To accompany the exhibition NIRIN: 22nd Biennale of Sydney, exhibiting artist Barbara McGrady will offer insight into her artistic practice, influences and inspiration with photographer John Janson-Moore.
About Barbara McGrady
Barbara McGrady is a photojournalist born in Mungindi, North Western New South Wales. With her pioneering work, she has captured and documented Aboriginal histories and stories in Sydney, recording historic political, sporting and social moments with her camera. With an archive of images spanning more than thirty years, her photographs offer an important insight into Indigenous life in urban areas, demonstrating the vast spectrum of contemporary Aboriginal experience.
About John Janson-Moore
John Janson-Moore is an award-winning photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist working across a broad spectrum of media. His photography is diverse, encompassing portraiture, documentary and conceptual art.
John is also a highly experienced director, producer and writer of documentaries, drama and short films. His work has seen him produce a range of creative media content, from broadcast television to the web.
