First Hands: Drawing and Talking with Vernon Ah Kee

A creative morning for high school students to meet and work with acclaimed artist Vernon Ah Kee. The program includes a gallery talk, speaking with the artist about his works on exhibition in The Island, talking through his process, sharing sources of inspiration and unpacking content. Vernon Ah Kee will also lead students in a drawing workshop, learning practical techniques on how to draw hands in proportion, considering gesture and the complex expression of hands.
