About

Opera in the Arboretum is an open-air festival of top Australian opera singers, held amongst the gum trees and kookaburras in the Pearl Beach Crommelin Native Arboretum. Feature artists are Milijana Nikolic (Mezzo Soprano), Rosario La Spina (Tenor) and Antoinette Halloran (Soprano) and Christopher Tonkin (Baritone) - a line-up of Opera's best. Supported by guitarist, Giuseppe Zangari; continuo pianist, Francis Greep and the Central Coast Chamber Orchestra. The event is an initiative of the Rotary Club of Woy Woy, providing a cultural event showcasing the talents of some of Australia's most respected opera performers. All proceeds go to support designated Rotary recipients, who in 2019 are The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Fairhaven the Central Coast's local disability support provider, Coast Shelter the Youth and Women’s refuges on the Central Coast, the Central Coast Conservatorium is the Coast’s premier training and music educator and also other Rotary projects and charities. The event is one of the Central Coast's premier cultural experiences offering an intoxicating mix of opera and music. The Pearl Beach Crommelin Native Arboretum is designated a non-smoking precinct.
