About

Born in Cessnock, Brian Castles-Onion is one of Australia’s most exciting and well-known opera conductors. His career expands internationally having worked at New York’s Metropolitan Opera and the Julliard School of Music. He has worked at the Rossini Festival in Italy, held the position of Artistic Director of Canterbury Opera in New Zealand and currently continues his long run association with Opera Australia. In concert, Brian Castles-Onion is a celebrated compère as well as conductor. He was on the podium for Opera Australia’s 40th Anniversary Gala and The Robert Allman Farewell Gala and conducted the Joan Sutherland State Memorial Service – which was broadcast internationally on television and radio. After 2019’s wildly successful show The Maestro and The Diva with Geraldine Turner, Brian Castles-Onion returns in this very special night of music created especially for CPAC audiences. You’ll hear and fall in love again with the most beautiful and thrilling arias and duets from Puccini, Verdi, Rossini and others, performed by two of Australia’s brightest operatic talents, Lorina Gore (Soprano) and Luke Gabbedy (Baritone). It’s a night filled with the most glorious melodies, laughter, tears and ecstasy.
