This summer Essential Theatre proudly presents Shakespeare’s famous tragedy – “Macbeth”, at Calais Estate in the Hunter Valley. Come and join us at the beautiful Calais Estate Winery as Essential Theatre transport us to yesteryear. “Fair is foul, and foul is fair” (Act 1 Sc 1) The cast of 8 professional actors will take you on the thrilling and dark journey that is Macbeth. Tempted by the prophecies of three mysterious witches, and encouraged by his power hungry wife, Macbeth will do anything to be King. He is quickly led into a nightmarish world of evil and deceit as he tries to murder his way to the throne of Scotland. Shakespeare’s rousing tragedy is filled with ferocious battles, supernatural horrors, stunning language, and some of the Bard’s most vivid characters. Set among the beautiful vineyards of Calais Estate in the Hunter Valley, let yourself be taken on this journey as the sun sets, the dark night settles in and the witches come out to play!
