They want to inspire Clarence Valley people to salute / depict / tend / explore the river islands - with art, play, land care science, culture, sports, stories, music, navigation, or what ever it is you like to do. Why 53 Islands? They want to spark your curiosity. How many islands are there in the Clarence River? It's the question, not the answer. And whats and island anyway? Clarence Valley photographers, artists, paddlers, scientists, sailors, nature-lovers, astronomers, story-tellers, Aboriginal custodians, you name it - have organised two weeks of island celebrations.
