The Art of Play With Kerrie Bowles

In this six-week course, students will explore playfulness in art-making. There will be experiments with a range of materials to make marks on paper and boards, and exploring the techniques of drawing, painting and collage in unexpected ways. You will be introduced to techniques, methods of working and combinations of materials you may not have encountered previously or thought to use. Students will create works on paper and boards and will explore working in a series throughout the six-weeks. The subject matter is not the focus of this course so students can choose to work in realistic or abstract ways - or a combination of both. A willingness to play, experiment and ask "What if?" will be at the core of students' work. This course is suitable for all levels of experience.
