Tradigital: Brentyn Lugnan

A solo exhibition by leading Gumbaynggirr artist Brentyn Lugnan. Strikingly contemporary, Lugnan’s work remains deeply grounded in Gumbaynggirr culture, embedded with traditional symbolism and spirituality while taking it firmly into the future. Brentyn creates paintings that are inspired by the land his family originates from and its stories, drawing on the traditional knowledge of elders, together with his distinctive style and technique.

The Robert & Janice Hunter Collection

Local art collectors Robert and Janice Hunter donated their collection of Aboriginal art to Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery in 2018. Featuring the work of more than 30 artists from Central Australia, the Kimberley and Arnhem Land, these paintings explore the rich concepts that bind Aboriginal artists, communities and land together. Including paintings by Thomas Tjapaltjarri, Nellie Marks Nakamarra, Phyllis Thomas, Tommy Carroll, Gracie Morton Pwerle, June Peters and many others.
