About
Love food, and walk and talk food? Then join our monthly Bite Book Club for food lovers here in Coffs Harbour!
Bite Book Club aims to gather like-minded food lovers to talk about the book of the month and all things food-related, in a relaxed conversational space, with coffee and food available for purchase.
Our book for MAY 15 is The Oldest Foods on Earth: A History of Australian Native Foods with Recipes by John Newton
In this book, John Newton makes the point that if we are what we eat, we need to eat foods that will help to reconcile us with the land and its first inhabitants.
Newton discuss some of the flavours of Australia, from kangaroo to quandongs, from fresh muntries to the latest addition, magpie goose.
With recipes from chefs such as Peter Gilmore, Maggie Beer and René Redzepi's sous chef Beau Clugston,
The Oldest Foods on Earth will encourage you to include more native bush foods in your cooking.
We'll also discuss where you can find bush food ingredients and even grow them.
