Circle of Rhythm

Heralded as Australia's most exciting rhythm trio, Greg Sheehan, Bobby Singh and Ben Walsh have between them changed the face of percussion in Australia. After decades defining and redefining what Australian drumming could offer the world, they formed a percussion trio with a difference, rich in culture from the various styles all three dynamic performers have spent their lives exploring.

From the high energy, fast-paced drumming styles of Japan and Polynesia, to the ethereal and spiritually uplifting sounds of India, this ensemble boasts a full spectrum of styles and instrumentation that will delight your senses. Melodic and rhythmic, you can count on all things percussed with dexterity, each member having dedicated their life to the study of the drum. Their show is an homage to multicultural Australia, borrowing rhythms and melding a collection of drum styles, both unique and rich in ancient tradition. Expect a powerhouse of razor-sharp, precision beats and drumming of the highest order delivered with a relaxed, and often humorous, Australian approach.

IndoJazz Fusion Ensemble

IndoJazz Fusion Ensemble featuring the sultry vocals of Sarah Hyland exploring the close connection between Indian rhythms and Jazz music with Greg Sheehan, Bobby Singh and the best Jazz musos in the area.

From packed-house performances at Greenwich Village’s legendary The Bitter End, the Lower East Side’s Rockwood Music Hall and Washington Square’s Zinc Bar to Sydney’s Palmer & Co has been described as Betty Boop meets Billie Holliday!

Melding traditional jazz influences with pop and blues, folk storytelling, jive and subtle R&B beats. In this performance Sarah J Hyland is bringing a new twist to jazz music with her deep exploration of Jazz music’s cross-over with North Indian classical music and the influence of the far east on full repertoire of Jazz. Joined by Greg Sheehan on drums, Bobby Singh on Tabla and local bassist and guitarists for music lovers this will be a real treat.
