Harmony Festival is back for 2020 – bigger, bolder and tastier than ever! Celebrating everyone’s journey to calling Coffs home, experience Coffs Coast’s most culturally exotic, action-packed, and soul nourishing family-friendly fiesta as the lush and leafy surroundings of Coffs Botanic Gardens erupt in a kaleidoscope of colour, delectable aromas and hands-on fun.

MAIN STAGE
Featuring the cream of local cultural performers and some very special guests, the main stage ramps the excitement factor up to 11 with over 20 authentic and amazing acts from around the globe and just down the road.

Kick back in the shady garden surrounds, soak up the festive atmosphere and get treated to the most dynamic, colourful and action packed program of non-stop live music and dance performance as continents converge in the heart of Coffs, or join the party with loads of crowd interaction on offer including a limbo competition with wicked prizes.

This year’s very special guests include the triumphant homecoming of local legend and dance and music maestro Yt Dingo aka Travers Ross as he drops his new EP on his epic journey from Splendour in the Grass to new frontiers of his current Australian East Coast tour. More announcements to come.

IMMERSE and CONNECT
Deepen your connection in Gumbaynggirr Nguura Aboriginal welcoming space - the living heart of the festival. Taste authentic bush tucker, get painted in ochre, sit fireside with traditional weavers. Don’t miss the start of festival as Wadjar Ngarlu dancers open the event with powerful dance performance and the traditional lighting of sacred fire that burns throughout the day until the dancers again lead the community parade finale.

Experience the warmest of welcomes in the Melting Pot – our authentic interactive cultural immersion space where the buzz of an overseas marketplace meets the warmth of a cultural community lounge room.  Share in a traditional Ethiopian / Eritrean Coffee Ceremony, taste and learn traditional Middle Eastern bread baking and hommous making, style up for the day with henna and African hairbrading in The Salon, and uncover treasure in our exciting new market bazaar with stunning craft, jewellery and more lovingly made by local cultural artisans.

DANCE and JAM
The Beats and Feets drum and dance tent is your all day hands-on cross-cultural action station to nourish your soul and shake your booty. Start your day with devotional Indian chants and the colourful instruments of local cosmic kirtanists, Devi Das. Shake your shanks and super charge your smile with infectious fun of Bollywood dance. Feel the love with Dances of Universal Peace. Bring an instrument or grab one there and let mad musical mayhem reign with Uncle Martin’s Jam and grab a drum and grow the groove with Kaya Boom’s sizzling samba soul session.

EAT
Nestled amongst a lush garden trail, follow your nose to the Flavourhood Food Walk, with the sizzling woks and bubbling pots of the most delectable multicultural food experience on offer anywhere on the Coffs coast. Let your taste buds journey a gamut of cultural cuisines including traditional home cooked delicacies you just won’t find at any other market.

PLAY and CREATE
Get down and dirty at Planet Coffs - our fully sustainable family friendly creative nature play adventure zone that celebrates the natural beauty of this paradise we all call home.  Build your utopia in the bustling cardboard cubby kingdom and hay bale heaven. Bring the trees to life on clay bombing escapades.  See the giant bower and join a treasure hunt throughout the festival grounds to see if we can collect enough blue materials to lure out the giant bowerbird.  Help create a giant 30 metre mural with piles of hands-on art and craft activities to tell story of who we are and what we love about our beautiful Coffs coast home.

Think you’re pretty good at shooting hoops?  Come try your luck and have fun as local emergency services host an all-in basketball free throw competition with way cool prizes and the glory of being crowned Queen or King of the Harmony ring.

UNITE and CELEBRATE!
The non-stop action all culminates at 2pm with the drumming in of the community parade! Led by traditional Gumbaynggirr dancers, join the procession with hundreds of drummers cultural dancers and or just soak up the spectacle as it snakes its way through the festival grounds to main stage climax with gigantic cross cultural dance off and explosive holi powder rainbow colour run finale!

Come and uncover your common ground.
