About

This year's NAIDOC Week Flag Raising event will be LIVE STREAMED on Council's MyCoffs Connect Facebook page. Tune in at 9:55am on Monday 6 July to mark the opening of the week.

**Due to COVID-19 State restrictions, we are asking the community to please tune in through Facebook Live instead of attending the event in person.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.

The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support our local Aboriginal community here on Gumbaynggirr Country.

The Official Flag Raising Ceremony launches the events in Coffs Harbour. View the two week digital program of events, curated by the Local Aboriginal Lands Council (LALC) for this July.

This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, NAIDOC Week has had new dates announced for 8 - 15 November, so stay tuned for in-person events then!
