About the Event

This year's NAIDOC Week Flag Raising event will be in person and also live streamed on Council's MyCoffs Connect Facebook page. Tune in at 9:55am on Monday 5 July to mark the opening of the week if you can't make it to the flagpoles outside the Council Chambers.

**Due to COVID-19 State restrictions, we are asking the community to please continue to maintain social distancing.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.

The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support our local Aboriginal community here on Gumbaynggirr Country.

The Official Flag Raising Ceremony launches the events in Coffs Harbour and is followed by a community Morning Tea to be held at the Norm Jordan Pavillion at the Coffs Harbour Showground.
