About
Enjoy a day of happy slowness when you join the Spoonsmith, Jeff Donne, for a hands-on exploration in the traditional art of carving wooden spoons from a tree in pure, analogue bliss.
In this six hour workshop you will learn:
How to safely and unhurriedly turn a responsibly sourced log into a beautiful wooden spoon using an axe, a knife and your hands; The joys of falling into spoon making meditation;
The fun in foraging for sticks and logs in the woods; and
The value of preserving traditional crafts.
Each participant will go home with a head full of new skills and everything you make on the day.
Introductory class suitable for beginners aged 16+.
All materials provided.
Please note this is a one day workshop but should get swept away with spoon making, Jeff would love to have you attend both workshops and will structure your second day with some more advanced skills and projects.
Due to current advice on public gatherings, please contact the host of this event to confirm it is proceeding as planned.
