Hidden

Hidden is an outdoor sculpture exhibition that takes place amongst the gardens and graves in one of the oldest sections of the Cemetery. The exhibition invites artists to ponder the notion of history, culture, remembrance and love and allows audiences to witness creative expression hidden throughout Australia's largest and most historic cemetery. Rookwood is the oldest, largest and most multicultural cemetery in Australia, and Hidden invites the public to experience the historic and cultural significance of this iconic site. Hidden Rookwood Sculptures is an outdoor sculptural exhibition that steps outside the notion of mainstream galleries and typical outdoor sculpture exhibitions to showcase Rookwood as Australia’s most multicultural site. Now in it's 11th year, there are now two new programs to Hidden. Hidden Rookwood Films and Hidden Rookwood Students. The student artworks will be showcased alongside sculptures and installations within the Hidden Rookwood Sculptures exhibition. An exhibition of video and moving image art that will be exhibited as part of Hidden Rookwood Sculptures. Hidden is a free public event running from sunrise to sunset from Saturday 7 September to Monday 7 October 2019.
