Federation Council is pleased to announce the Corowa Art Space will host the famous Bald Archy Prize. The 2019 Bald Archy celebrates the life of Peter Batey, who tragically passed away earlier this year. Mr Batey created the Bald Archy Prize in 1994 as a spoof of the prestigious Archibald Prize, and it has since become an icon on the Australian art calendar for its satirical images of well-known Australians. Now known internationally as the only art competition in the world to be judged by a sulfur crested cockatoo named Maude, the satirical side of this event has its basis in the irreverent, larrikin Australian comic comment, with great appeal to people from all walks of life, the reason why the exhibition of finalists keeps breaking attendance records wherever it is shown. The 2019 winner features a portrait of legendary thespian, Geoffrey Rush, by Melbourne artist Simon Schneider. Entry Cost All tickets $5 - Children are free
