[REMOVED] Gunnedah Saleyards

Experience one of the largest stock selling centres in New South Wales. Cattle Sale day is quite a spectacle - try to keep up with the auctioneers chant! Did you know they don't actually talk all that fast - they use a lot of filler words to make it sound fast. This is part functional and part psychological: "it's the perception of an auction that you can sell items in a fast manner", says Brandon Neely, who is Livestock Marketing Association world champion. It certainly makes an auction very exciting! Gunnedah Saleyards is located on the edge of town, just a kilometre from the town centre on the Kamilaroi Highway towards Narrabri. It is currently undergoing a significant upgrade, which will enhance the visitor experience. Cattle Stock sales are held every Tuesday, with all cattle sold live weight. Saleyards auctions are proceeding as usual, however non-essential personnel are asked not to attend in order to maintain safety standards.
