Flickerfest - Narrabri

Flickerfest, Australia’s largest Short Film Festival, is excited to be bringing its National Tour to The Crossing Theatre showcasing the Best of Australian Shorts and Best of International Shorts programmes. One Highlight from the Best of Australian Shorts on Saturday 19th June at 5pm includes Dust Cloud, about a badly behaved working dog (Jack) who changes his tune when he is given the love and respect he deserves from a prudent country woman played by Sandy Gore (Brides of Christ, Australia). This fabulous short was written and directed by Trudi Houston who was an Art Teacher in Narrabri in the 1990’s where she lived on sheep farms and was given her first working dog. Her Narrabri experience provided an initial inspiration for the films screenplay. Highlights from the Best of International Shorts programme on Saturday 19th June at 7.45pm features, fresh from its Australian Premiere at Flickerfest Bondi, the fabulous ‘David’, starring comedy legend Will Ferrell, which had its World Premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2020; plus the stunning Flickerfest 2021 Best International Short Film award winner ‘The Present’ from Palestine, nominated for an Academy Award; Flickerfest 2021 Best International Animation winner, the amazing psychedelic ‘Normal’ from France.
