The XXXX Golden Eagle is unique as it is exclusively for four-year-olds and forms the third and final leg of the ‘Golden Slam’ at Rosehill Gardens. The Golden Slam encompasses the Golden Slipper (2yos), Golden Rose (3yos) and The Golden Eagle, with a AUD5 million bonus on offer to any horse that can win all three races. The Golden Eagle (1500m), with AUD7.5 million in prize money, is the nation’s third-richest race and this year will be staged on Saturday, 30 October 2021. Of the AUD7.5m prizemoney on offer, 10% will be donated to charity whereby connections of each runner can nominate a charity accredited with Racing NSW and that charity receives 10% of prize money won by their horse.
