BANG the Dore: Music in the Village

All roads will lead to the village of Bungendore on Saturday May 15th for a celebration of local musical talent with the BANG the ‘Dore event. Bring your family and friends for a great day out. Across the village in the morning, a variety of musical focused buskers of all ages will perform in different locations with the hope of securing one of the many prizes on offer. The buskers will be judged across eight categories with one being an online voted People’s Choice award and winners will be announced on the main stage later in the afternoon. The afternoon headliner acts are an eclectic bunch of emerging musicians from Braidwood, Bungendore and Queanbeyan. The afternoon kicks off at 1.30pm at the main stage in Gibraltar St. Singer-songwriter Lily Morris and her band from Braidwood will get things started, followed by Bungendore hip-hop artist Context featuring Jimmy Pike and DJ Chemi-Cal. To round out the afternoon, Queanbeyan artist, Jerikye Williams will perform a rousing set with a nod to the greats, The Big O, Johnny Cash and Elvis going through to around 5pm. The village will be buzzing all day with footpath trading and special offers including food options from the cafes and restaurants across the village.
