About

Explore this wild and wonderful exhibition of creatures great and small that inhabit the Botanic Gardens in an array of amazing mediums. Their gardens provide much needed green space in an ever-growing urban environment. They are brimming with wildlife including birds, mammals, spiders, reptiles, frogs, fish, crustaceans and insects. For the Wild Thing exhibition, which will be held for the first time this August, artists have been invited to create artwork based on the wildlife living in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah and the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. Provided with lists of the wildlife living in the Botanic Gardens, the artists have created a wide range of work including paintings, drawings, prints, photography and more. Wild Thing is a new and exciting art exhibition that encourages the sale of all its artworks. Proceeds from the sale of original artworks go to the artists and to Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens, helping the not-for-profit organisation to continue its support of the horticulture, conservation, scientific research and education programs within your Botanic Gardens.
