DIY Spartan Shield Workshop for Kids (7-13 Years)

Go back to 480 BC to the year of the Battle of Thermopylae in this fun Sydney school holidays workshop for kids. In this full-day workshop, kids will explore Greek society and the unique role Sparta played in the history of the region sourced from accounts by Plutarch and Herodotus. It will be a fun and modern twist on agoge, the rigorous training education program for Spartan citizens. During the workshop, kids will build and decorate their own Spartan shield and spear replica then engage in shield formations, drills and a re-enactment of the Battle Of Thermopylae and the Olympics. All kids will leave the workshop with their own DIY Spartan shield and spear, new skills, friends and plenty of fun memories.
