About

Fire and Grace guitarist William Coulter and violinist Edwin Huizinga explore world classical, folk, and contemporary traditions. Their repertoire ranges from Bach to Vivaldi, tango to Celtic, traditional Bulgarian to American, played with passion and virtuosity — fire and grace. Appearances include Carmel Bach Festival, Mozaic Festival, Santa Cruz Baroque Festival, Electric Earth Concerts, Monterey Museum of Art, and Tomaseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas. Fire and Grace toured New Zealand in 2017, appearing at Upsurge Festival, Festival of Colour, and New Zealand School of Music. Canadian violinist Edwin Huizinga has appeared alongside Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Dawn Upshaw, Mike Marshall, and Stevie Wonder, and as soloist with San Bernardino Symphony, Sweetwater Music Festival, Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival, and Banff Summer Arts Festival. Edwin helped found baroque ensemble Acronym which has released six albums of previously unknown baroque music. Edwin performs world-wide with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. Guitarist William Coulter has performed traditional guitar music for over twenty years. His most recent solo recording, The Road Home (Gourd Music) received critical acclaim, and he received a Grammy Award for his contribution to The Pink Guitar, solo guitar arrangements of Mancini’s music. William teaches classical guitar at UC Santa Cruz. Entry Cost All tickets $5
