Bicycle Queensland and its annual city to coast cycling event returns for 2021! Unveiled as the ‘Downer Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge 2021’ the iconic gathering will celebrate its 16th year on Sunday October 17th, inviting Australians of all ages to join in one of the country’s most revered mass participation rides. This year, attendees can sign-up for one of three distances—the classic 100 kilometre Brisbane to Gold Coast, 40 kilometre from Brisbane to Logan, or 60 kilometre from Logan to the Gold Coast. Riders choosing the 100 kilometre challenge will commence at the starting line on the Eleanor Schonell Bridge (Green Bridge) in Brisbane’s Dutton Park. Moving through 15 kilometres of uninterrupted, traffic-free Busway, participants will then follow a combination of service and suburban roads all the way out to Southport Broadwater Parklands. For 2021, Bicycle Queensland is excited to support Stronger For Longer, a volunteer-run organisation that works in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) to support promising prostate cancer research. Affecting 1 in 7 Australian men and claiming the lives of 3,500 people each year, Stronger For Longer play a critical role in reducing these statistics through innovative and life-changing treatments. Registrations are now open with discounted early-bird tickets available for a limited time only. For all ticketing information and pricing, visit the official event website. Entry Cost Adult $75 - Early bird entries until midnight Tuesday 3rd August. Standard entries from Wednesday 4th August to Sunday 3rd October.
