Dating back to 1926, the QLD PGA Championship is one of the country’s most prestigious golf championships with past winners including Ian Baker Finch, Greg Norman, Peter Senior, Brad Kennedy, Ryan Fox and in 2020, Michael Sim. In January 2022, the QLD PGA Championship will be played at the newly renovated Nudgee Golf Club. A $16M redevelopment of the 36 hole facility will be completed by mid 2022 with the course in which the QLD PGA Championship will be played on named 'Kurrai' in honor of the aboriginal term for 'Sunset'. The QLD PGA Championship is widely known for its engagement in the community with activities relating to juniors, ladies, non golfers, golf club members and alike, forming part of a strategy to ensure the longevity of the game of golf Is positively impacted from the championship being played each year.
