2019 Screen Makers Conference

The Screen Makers Conference is the leading event for emerging and early-career screen content makers across Australia. In 2019 it will be held on 26-27 July, in Adelaide. Now in its fifth year, Screen Makers Conference brings together Australia’s writers, directors, producers and other screen creatives to share knowledge, connect with the industry, and pitch projects to the national marketplace. The conference is presented by the Media Resource Centre, Adelaide’s screen culture hub. The Screen Makers Conference program features leading screen practitioners and decision-makers working in film, TV, documentary and online, in speaker sessions, industry roundtables, and one-on-one pitching opportunities. Over two days at Adelaide’s Mercury Cinema, delegates from across the country will hear from accomplished writers, directors and producers, and network with broadcasters, distributors, international sales agents, producers and leading production companies keen to connect with industry talent. Returning to Screen Makers Conference in 2019 is Pitch-o-rama, the live pitch competition in search of the next big web series idea, offering $10,000 in concept development funding. This presents the opportunity for screen makers from across Australia to pitch a short-form scripted or factual concept directly to creative executives from the ABC.
