About

In Australia, the Autumn equinox is the moment the sun passes the equator and moves into the northern hemisphere. It is a time of gratitude for the Summer and Autumn harvest, and preparation for Winter. In 2021 Autumn Equinox is on Saturday 20th March, and in the Clare Valley this is also the time that Vintage begins to slow with varieties such as Riesling already in the winery. We will run a special Six Senses Farm Tour on this date, and enjoy an elaborate 'Gratitude' six course degustation paired with Mount Horrock's wine with winemaker Stephanie Toole. Join us at Watervale Hotel at 3.45pm before travelling in convoy to the nearby Mount Horrocks for a tour of their certified organic and bio-dynamic vineyard. Stephanie will present the very new 2021 Watervale Riesling to be tried. We will then drive to Penobscot Farm in Watervale for a tour at 5pm. You will be encouraged to hear, see, smell, feel and taste your way through the farm as you learn about the organic, bio-dynamic and permaculture farming. The sixth sense is the magic of energy. 2 hour tour, and Watervale Riesling. Then drive 1 kilometer north for a six course tasting menu Dinner at the Watervale Hotel, with Mount Horrock's wine matching and tutored tasting that covers Clare Valley terroir, climate, geology and geography $250 / head. Entry Cost Adult $250 - Mount Horrocks vineyard and Penobscot Farm Six Senses Tour followed by six course Watervale Hotel 'Gratitude Dinner'. Mount Horrock's matched wines and tutored tasting by Warrick Duthy and Stephanie Toole that covers Clare Valley terroir, climate, geology and geography $250 / head.
