About

A performance of excerpts from major French plays from the 17th to the 21st century. The rich tradition of French theatre has never failed to please and delight audiences. We have chosen scenes memorable for their comedy and human interest to give a brief overview of the best French theatre has to offer. Excerpts from Molière, Beaumarchais (Le Mariage de Figaro), Rostand (Cyrano de Bergerac), Ionesco (La Cantatrice Chauve) and J-M Ribes (Théâtre sans animaux). To be performed in French with English surtitles. Performers: Panache, Adelaide French Theatre. Panache, Adelaide French Theatre, Adelaide’s only French-language theatre group, was formed in 2014. The original members had all performed in shows organised by Alliance Française for many years. Panache specialises in presenting plays from the French classical and contemporary repertoires, as well as theme-based cabaret performances, many of which have been presented as part of the Cabaret Fringe Festival. Entry Cost All tickets $35 - Children 12 and under at the time of the event may purchase a child ticket. Children 2 and under, sitting on the knee of a parent/guardian do not require a ticket. Shows may not have child tickets due to the nature of the show. Please contact auburnfrenchfest@gmail.com for more information.
