For a fun day out in the bush, you can't go past the Burra Picnic Races at Thistlebeds Station. Catering to a crowd of all ages, both from local surrounds and visitors from afar, the Burra Picnic Races proudly supports the Royal Flying Doctor Service and raises significant funds for local community groups and organisations. Racegoers can enjoy a wide range of events, from horse racing, barrel racing and gymkhana, to fun family friendly spectator activities including Fashions on the Field, wheelbarrow races, tug 'o' war, sheep racing and a bouncy castle. Full catering and bar will be available throughout the day, along with live entertainment into the evening. Camping available. Just over two hours from Adelaide, Burra offers visitors a slice of the outback, complete with red dust and open spaces. Entry Cost Adult $15 - Children under 12 years of age are free.
