About

Head for the Hills runs after-school mountain bike skills programs for kids wanting to try mountain biking as well as those looking to develop their skills. Lessons are designed for kids aged 10 to 14 and offered at Craigburn Farm on either Tuesday or Thursday afternoons. There are no prerequisites for participants and the program is perfect for beginners, so long as they can ride confidently on two wheels. The After School MTB Skills program generally runs for 18 weeks over the Summer (Term 4 & 1) and Winter (Term 2 & 3) seasons. Groups will be arranged according to age, experience, and skill level. *Sessions do not run during school holidays* The program focuses on the key skills of mountain biking and will develop the students: * Bike handling and balance * Control and trail reading * Technique (discipline independent) Students will also learn about the non-practical aspects of mountain biking, including: * Trail etiquette for shared-use networks * Risk assessment and management skills * Knowledge of participation opportunities Entry Cost All tickets $398
