About
Join us for this NAIDOC week performance of ‘Extinction: The Ballad of Pirt Koorrook’, a First Nations’ adaptation of a play by Hannie Rayson, ‘Extinction’ explores the themes of climate change and global warming and re-examines environmental ethics through the lens of First Nations people and culture. Set on the Traditional Lands of the Gadubanad, which includes the Otways in Victoria, Indigenous and non-Indigenous characters navigate their own morality and decision making in relation to the environment.
This adaptation is the brainchild of First Nations artist Georgia MacGuire and is presented by Creswick Theatre Company. The 90-minute performance will be followed by a 'Questions and Answer' with the cast and director and chaired by Deb Lowah Clark.
