The Colourful Bunch: Works Done

Provided by:

Event runs from 11:00 AM to 4:45 PM
Daily, until 29/05/2022

The Colourful Bunch are all members of the Ballarat Society of Artists Inc., some recent joiners and others members for many years. Some have lived and worked in and around Ballarat all their lives whilst others have found themselves in the region later in life and after retirement. Their backgrounds and work life experiences are diverse; a former business owner, an actor, a roof plumber, a plasterer, a teacher, an art teacher, a psychiatric nurse, an office manage, an engineer and a shearer. In varying degrees, all have included their love of art as a part of their life journey. Their artwork covers a multitude of genres and mediums which is reflected in this exhibition. Now, in retirement, they have all been able to expand their interest in art and in doing so, establish new friendships with like minded people. All seek to experience the pleasure of creating art, of sharing art, and for some, teaching art. The importance of art in all its guises to the general wellbeing of the community cannot be overstated and lives are enriched by it. In a fast changing world, for The Colourful Bunch, art is a welcome constant. Exhibiting Artists Allan Moody, Barry Walters, Brian Lawrence, Francis Hooper, John Canham, Jon Lam, Kirk Alexander, Peter Macdonald, Linton Horsfield, David Adams.
