Tramway Celebration Day: A festival of vintage transport

It's been fifty years since the last tram carried passengers in Ballarat. The Ballarat Tramway Museum invites you to take a trip down memory lane to discover what life was once like for the typical Ballarat resident, by riding on several of the circa one hundred-year-old trams that once took people to work, to school and around the picturesque Lake Wendouree, through the heritage-listed Ballarat Botanical Gardens. Along with the tram rides, there will be miniature railway and steam traction engine rides, displays of vintage cars, buses, trucks, model railways and more. Highlights of the day will include a grand vintage transport parade and a re-enactment of the last tram that ran in Ballarat, exactly fifty years before.
