Bendigo Writers Festival is an annual three-day event which gathers more than 100 writers for discussions about every kind of writing under the sun.
The Bendigo Writers Festival will take place from Friday 7 May 2021 - Sunday 9 May 2021. The festival will be a 3-day multi-venue program and invites everyone to the Central Victorian region to experience a friendly, exuberant and tempting program for young and old.
As part of the festival, 51 events have been planned at venues including The Capital, Ulumbarra Theatre and the Bendigo Library. All venues are COVID-compliant and will be accessible for in-person attendance.
Among the 104 speakers are international guests Steven Greenblatt who will discuss tyrants, Nicholson Baker talking on secrecy, Amitav Ghosh discussing cross-cultural knowledge and David Rothkopf examining the 'traitor Trump'.
Australia writers scheduled to visit the 2021 Bendigo Writers Festival include James Boyce, Steve Carroll, Zoe Daniel, Zana Fraillon, Hilde Hinton and Samuel Johnson, Scott Ludlum, Cathy McGowan, Louise Milligan, Garth Nix, Fiona O'Loughlin, Yves Rees, Don Watson and Pip Williams.
Bendigo Writers Festival is an initiative of Bendigo Venues & Events, a unit of the City of Greater Bendigo, and is supported by La Trobe University and Bendigo Tourism.
