About

Macedon Ranges is known to be a vibrant creative community, and the Buttlejorrk Artists group is one the longest continual running artists collective in the area. Established in 1976, as a group of potters wishing to share their knowledge and exhibit their work together, they derived their name, “Buttlejorrk”, from the traditional name of an area around Sunbury and Diggers Rest. Over the years the group has expanded to include a wider range of arts including painting, sculpture, jewellery, textiles and woodwork. The individual artists' backgrounds and work are varied, encompassing both traditional contemporary works. This is a special year for the group with the celebration of their 45th annual group show. The exhibition will include the 11 current members as well as 6 additional special guests from the Macedon Ranges Potters. After a challenging year, the artists are looking forward to showing their work and celebrating the supportive creative community of the Macedon Ranges. All work is for sale and it is an ideal opportunity to purchase a unique, locally handmade piece of art for yourself or as a gift. Buttlejorrk Artists: Cathy Grose, Mim Osmelak, Brandy Monteith, Denise Martin, Pat Beasley, Pam Jackson, Jen Tyquin, Tim Meager, Jan Guest, Deidre Chestney, and Marg Altmann. Guest Potters: Nic Germano, Jan Maxwell, Helen Littlejohn, Carolyn Pain, Deborah van der Kraan, and Julie Luck.
