To be officially opened by John Wolseley, artist and a national living treasure. Artist Michael Wolfe and writer Kirsten Krauth look through the gothic glass darkly at the edges of these uncertain times in photographs, verse, lyrics and text. Exploring the rituals of remembrance as expressed in memorial statuary and reflections on loss, sorrow, absence, melancholy and letting go. Michael Wolfe is a painter and photographer who draws inspiration from the landscape and built environment around his home in rural Victoria. He has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally and his work is included in public, corporate and private collections Kirsten Krauth is an author, editor and arts journalist who lives in Castlemaine. Her second novel, Almost a Mirror, was inspired by the post-punk scene of St Kilda’s Crystal Ballroom and features Nick Cave in a cameo role. It was shortlisted for the Penguin Literary Prize and featured in The Guardian’s ’Best Australian Books of 2020’. She is currently working on a podcast about 80s music, to be released later in 2021. This is a Covid Safe fully ticketed event. Bookings essential. Preview: 5:00pm-7:00pm Saturday 8 May, 2021 Entry Cost All tickets $20 - Once of event which includes canapes from Le Sel and wine from Welshman's Reef winery. The exhibition is free and not ticketed. Only the Official Opening Preview attracts a fee and requires booking.
