About
Join the FSO for a very special series of boutique concerts to celebrate our 60th birthday! Performed in an intimate setting, this heart-warming program of works is perfect for enjoying with friends on a chilly winters evening. Showcasing all sections of the orchestra in a wide variety of styles and ensembles, there is something here for everyone!
This second concert in our Winter Warmers series is entitled ‘Old Wine in New Bottles’ in recognition of Gordon Jacob’s wind ensemble work of the same name which features in the program. This cabaret-style concert covers a colourful repertoire that sees a selection of old favourites in new dress:
Mozart - Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
Borodin - Polovtsian Dances
Beethoven - Rage Over a Lost Penny
Giazzotti - Adagio in G Minor
Handel - Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
Jacob - Old Wine in New Bottles
