About

Canberra REP presents Kate Hamill's playful new adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel, following the fortunes (and misfortunes) of Elinor and Marianne Dashwood shortly after their father’s sudden death. Set in gossipy 18th-century England, the play is full of humour, emotional depth, and bold theatricality. Sense and Sensibility is the perfect springtime rom-com, exploring the humour of human connection, and what happens when society’s rules tell you to stay away, but your heart is calling you home. When reputation is everything, how do you follow your heart? See this classic comedy of manners brought to life with contemporary flair by this talented cast and professional production crew. Sense and Sensibility plays at Canberra REP Theatre, opening Friday 18th November and running for three weeks to close Saturday 3rd December. Don’t miss this feel-good family entertainment to end your year.
