Amidst the celebrations, experiences and foraging across Orange's F.O.O.D WEEK, Borrodell is hosting Smoke and Fire Feast with Chef Jeff Schroeter to commemorate the region’s incredible produce. The dinner will be a four-course shared feast across communal long tables featuring local produce pushed by the elements of fire. Borrodell’s award-winning cider and wines will play a key aspect in each course served, with Jeff creatively using drinks as an ingredient in each dish. Whether cured, fermented, or reduced into a silky, velvety sauce, you’ll taste Borrodell in an entirely new way. Weather permitting, it will be set up on long tables across Borrodel’s lawn so you can have dinner under the setting sun, strings of lighting illuminating the incredibly dark sky, while smells of dinner being prepared in the smoke-house and fire pit barbeques ignite your senses. Chef Jeff (Beckett’s Glebe, Bistro Moncur) is a man born and raised in the farming region of the Riverina, and when he’s not gracing the restaurant kitchens in the city, you’ll find him off-road fishing, hunting and farming. He’s a man most happy in nature, and his cooking reflects his deep respect for produce freshly plucked from the land.
