Drawn to Hands

Hands are often neglected in figurative drawing and yet hands remain fundamental to communication. This life drawing workshop for the Deaf and hard of hearing people responds to Vernon Ah Kee’s new commissions and 2019 as the Year of Indigenous Languages. During this workshop, hands take centre stage as artists Vernon Ah Kee and Sue Jo Wright discuss the cultural nuances of Auslan and teach participants how to capture gesture, expression and make a statement.
